Spotlight on: Tiger Den 2
On Friday, December 7th, Tiger Den 2 made a generous donation of toys to the Benevolent Society of Mansfield. The Benevolent Society helps families in Mansfield that can not afford toys for their children at the holidays. At a recent den meeting, the Tigers discussed donating something to less fortunate children. The boys went out with their parents and picked up several toys each and the gifts were brought to Jack Conway Realty office, which is collecting toys for the Benevolent Society. The scouts, as well as reporters from the Mansfield News, enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies at the office. Tiger Den 2's generous act was featured in last Friday's Mansfield News (December 14th issue).
Capping off a busy month, the Tigers also attended a Providence Bruins game on December 1st.
Community Service
Service to others is a core value of Scouting, and since Pack 7 is chartered by St Mary's Church here in Mansfield, we often coordinate our community service events with St Mary's. Two such service opportunities are:
Coffee and Doughnuts
St Mary's serves coffee and doughnuts in the Parish Center after the 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 Masses most Sundays from September to May. Each rank will have a turn serving one Sunday during the year. The boys make juice, carry out doughnuts and drinks, make sure the coffee carafes are full, and clean up. This year's schedule is:
- Webelos I - January 27th
- Webelos II & Tigers - February 10th
- Wolves - February 24th
- Bears - March 30th
Volunteers are needed to coordinate the the following community service projects...please contact Scoutmaster Chris McGowan or Committee Chairman Dick Masison if you are interested.
- Mansfield Animal Shelter (December/January)
- Coffee and Doughnuts
- Senior Bingo Baskets (February through April)

Committee Meetings
First Wednesday of Every Month
All parents are strongly encouraged to attend the monthly Pack 7 Committee Meetings, held the first Wednesday of each month, generally at 7:00 PM (location varies). These meetings are for planning Pack 7 activities, and an opportunity for den leaders and parents to share ideas and feedback about how the pack and dens are running. The stronger the involvement, the better the pack is run. Contact Committee Chairman Dick Masison at 337.9951 for more information.
